Brolis HerdLine can provide valuable insights into the nutritional status of the herd or individual cows, simply by tracking fat, protein and lactose content as well as milk yield. Farmers can correlate changes in milk composition with feeding practices, enabling them to adjust the animal’s diet accordingly, to optimize milk production and overall herd health. Additionally, by comparing milk yield to feed intake, farmers can identify cows that may be underperforming or experiencing nutritional deficiencies.

Milk quality improvement

The quality of milk can be improved by adjusting the feed of dairy cows. Changes in the nutritional value of the forage were made on the 29th of September, including new grass and corn silage in the diet. The impact on milk quality (fat and protein) can be observed the following day.

Herd health monitoring

The feed used on the farm not only affects the quality of the milk but also the health of the cows. On the 21st of November, the protein content decreased, leading to an increase in the number of animals at high and low risk of metabolic diseases. New protein concentrate was reintroduced into the total mixed ration (TMR), and changes in protein content and the number of animals at risk of health disorders were observed over the next few days.
